Jane Eyre at The Mayflower theatre

A night at the theatre with @sotonbloggers

I've always been a theatre lover and I've seen many shows at the Mayflower theatre over the years, so when I was invited to see Sally cooksons new adaptation of Charlotte bronte's novel Jayne eyre last night, I had to be there. We were given Great seats where we sat comfortably waiting for the show to begin. I honestly had no idea what to expect on this "new take" of the novel, it was also a great time to announce the tour as 2017 is the 170th anniversary of when Jane eyre was first published. the highly acclaimed co-production between the national theatre and the Bristol old vic.

Jayne Eyre, played by the amazingly talented Nadia Cliford, shows her beginnings as a destitute orphan overcomes life's obstacles from surviving poverty, injustice, betrayal and the ultimate decisions on following her heart. While others may of found the thought of Jayne Eyre on stage might not of been their cup of tea I can honestly say i was blown away!

From the costumes by Katie Sykes, to the music by Benji bower and sound by Mike beer, the minimalist set design by Michael vale was striking, but I loved how much they made use of it, The way all the actors portrayed the "the house" I found myself actually picturing the building on stage. At the intermission Lexie, Anna and I (@sotonbloggers) couldn't stop talking about how different this production was to what we thought it would be. I mentioned how I like the fact they brought physical Theatre aspects into it and the girls mentioned how the singing, stunning. I really felt it was a diverse performance.

Sally Cookson says "adapting a novel for the stage is a challenging prospect" I must say she did a fantastic job! It's full of unexpected features that will appeal to a wide audience, all in all it was quirky and intriguing, I loved it. Jane Eyre will be at the mayflower from Monday 8th- Saturday 13th may 2017.

Myself, lexie and Anna

Easter goodies for my Toddler

Always another holiday isn't there. I like to make Poppy a box for each special occasion throughout the year; Christmas eve box, Halloween trick or treat bag and Easter is no exception. This Easter i have gone for the more traditional items like my mum used to get us when we were little; books, stickers, chocolate egg, etc... I've not gone as over the the top as I usually do. We are also buying the stuff we know Poppy is really interested in, her favourite characters and bits she can interact with us on as well

The items in the box are not to have in one go, half of this is being used for her Easter egg hunt in the garden. We have gone for the play/learning items this year, she loves books at the moment and we read to her every night. As she enjoys it so much i decided to get her The Gruffalo £5.99 from Waterstones and the Peter rabbit sticker activity book £2 from the Works.

A pack of Bunny crayons £1 from Poundland, Peppa pig play cards £2 fro…

How to Declutter your Home and Keep it that Way

Time to declutter

What helps me destress, be productive and keep myself organised is getting rid of all the bits and bobs i keep laying around the house. Yes, that drawer full of crap and all the kids toys that keep mounting up after Christmas and birthdays. I start with 4 bags; charity, selling, friends/family and bin. You don't have to do all of these in one day, pick a room or an area for one afternoon while the baby sleeps and the toddler is settled with snacks and a colouring book and get busy.

*Rooms*

Bathroom- the cabinets, products you dont use or are out of date, bath toys, etc...

Kitchen- food packaging, out of date products, pots and pans you don't use or need to replace

Living room- the mounting of paper work hidden in drawers, kids toys, shoes, etc...

Dining room- ( same as above)

Bedroom- clothes you don't wear, brought but never used, old bed, bedroom drawers and tables, worn out shoes (good quality shoes can be repaired fairly cheaply so dont throw away b…

4 different bank accounts / money saving hacks!

*The four bank accounts*

Your own personal bank account- we both have our own bank account for gym membership, phone bill, clothes shopping, coffee dates, fitness classes and general pocket money.
The utilities bank account- This is where your main  bills come out of; The mortgage, gas, electric, water, t.v licence, insuranc, etc it all comes out of that here. This way it is the only account that money comes out. Some banks give rewards for each direct debit that comes out so you could move your gym and phones bills to this one if it benefits you.
Saving bank account- This card should not be a debit card and set lower amount you can withdraw from ATM. Put money in straight away when you get paid or have come in from another account automatically before you even touch it.
Children's saving account/trust fund- Each month put a little away that goes into their accounts whether it be so they have their own money for holidays or saving for a car when they turn 17.
Food money- Not an …
